Charting a course to your Dream Wedding with Hoyohoyo

With love and marriage on our mind, Hoyohoyo hosted its first Wedding High Tea Showcase on 5 May. A perfect sunny, autumn morning set the scene and made for a memorable day at our Chartwell Lodge.

This initiative came about after we were inspired to host engaged couples at Chartwell Lodge following the Wedding Expo in March. Many visitors, who showed interested in our stand, also expressed excitement at the possibility of viewing our beautiful venue and connecting with suppliers.

Hoyohoyo’s managing director, Mrs Mumsy Khoza, recognised an opportunity to assist couples in planning their perfect wedding, but without the typical stress and anxiety. Her idea you ask? Well, to start, Chartwell Lodge would provide a perfect wedding planning setting, coupled with a scrumptious high tea with all the frills.

The day finally arrived, and all our guests and suppliers were given a warm welcome by our very own ‘mama’, Mrs Khoza, who shared the wonderful beginnings of Hoyohoyo and how it’s venues have grown tremendously from the original lodge in Chartwell. This was followed by a moving talk on marriage, and it highs and lows, by TV personality Desiree Chauke. This led to a wonderful platform for our guests to engage with each other and share their personal experiences.

Several of Hoyohoyo’s trusted suppliers exhibited their services and products in our breathtaking glass marquee. Each supplier was given an opportunity to present their business to our special guests and discuss their wedding requirements on the day. This was well received as some couples faced the predicament of not having found some suppliers yet.

A huge thank you goes out to SA Wedding Décor, Milani Milowo Photography, Lounge Around, Michelle Hean Makeup Artistry, Enrike van Rooyen Photography and DJ Larry for guiding the couples and being part of our showcase. We also extend appreciation to the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa for their efforts in making this day special.

The highlight of the event was a ‘step’ contest, where several couples performed their best dance moves down the red carpet for a chance to win a couple’s massage at Wisani Day Spa. The dance moves and energy provided an upbeat atmosphere at Chartwell Lodge, with all couples showing their respective skills.

Hoyohoyo was proud to formally announce the winners of the Wedding Expo Competition, where one lucky couple won an amazing 50% off their wedding at Chartwell Lodge. Yvonne and Nelson will be getting married at Chartwell in September this year and we cannot wait to help them celebrate their love with family and friends.

Following the success of this event, we have decided to host another Wedding High Tea Showcase in September this year, shortly after The Wedding Expo. We are excited to host more beautiful couples and an even wider variety of wedding suppliers this time around.
